Diet for two days a week is far more effective way to lose weight instead of always eating less each day.
Researchers discovered that women who reduce carbohydrates and eat fruits, vegetables and lean meat for two days a week lost weight is almost two times more than those who diet constantly.
Researchers at the University Hospital of South Manchester who studied 115 women volunteers on a diet. The first group mengasup 650 calories a day for two days a week, including cutting carbohydrates such as pasta, bread, potatoes, and all fatty foods.
During the other five, they eat the menu that they enjoy even if they are encouraged to eat healthy foods. Another group doing 1,500 calories per day diet and avoid foods high in fat and alcohol.
After three months, women from the first group lost four pounds weight, almost twice those in full-time diet, which only managed to lose 2.4 pounds.
Dr Michelle Harvie, of the Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Center at the hospital, said there were two days of dietary effects carried on the following days when women ate normally. He added, women seem to continue to eat healthy during the next five days if they are not given limit.
Dr Harvie, in his presentation at the symposium Breast Cancer Symposium in San Antonio, Texas, added, "Those who diet only two days will naturally eat less," he said as quoted by the Daily Mail.
